In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Curro (Vimbu’s founder) became obsessed with digitalising the outdated traditional ski school market. After relocating to Amsterdam to pursue this dream, he spent a year designing, researching, pitching daily to uninterested investors, and aiming to build a dream team.
Fortune struck when both a group of angel investors and a newly formed team of ambitious young individuals (starting with Ben, who was just an Instagram follower at the time, now Vimbu’s Lead Developer) believed in the vision.
Three months later, under a tight deadline, this initial team managed launched the first MVP, serving several hundred clients.
We’ll be spending a significant chunk of our lives together and want to make sure that we maximise true performance out of it and create value, while also being satisfied to be dedicating this chunk with the team. We believe in incentivising autonomy, building you up alongside the growth of the company. Let’s build, break things and have a hell of a time doing so.

With hundreds of instructors and local businesses relying on the platform, and thousands of people discovering a love for new sports, we have a big job on our hands.
Our goal is to grow and offer the most streamlined way of learning sports, with a focus on safety, affordability and convenience. We want the adventures to happen during the lessons, not during the booking process.
We’re a dynamic team composed of motivated individuals spread out internationally. Each person brings significant value, taking on responsibility for large parts of the company and have a big effect on dictating it’s future. From olympic athletes / coaches, masterminds who’ve built large companies, senior developers and more, we really want to build a team of rockstars and allow future team mates to become so.
After racing against the clock for 2.5 months, we successfully launched (albeit with quite a few bugs 🙃) Vimbu across several ski resorts in Dec 2021. By the end of that winter, we had almost a thousand users on our platform. Winter continued with us into summer 2022, in which we focused on expanding to the southern hemisphere winter in Argentina.
Our second season, 2023, is where real growth came, handling over 5x the transactions, reaching profitability in several months and moving away from just being an MVP, closing large deals with great partners.
Now in 2024, we’re ready to do another big step forward, those slightly warmer sports do look attractive 😀
We raised 400K$, 3 months later we launched Vimbu to the public.
Completed first winter season, teaching hundreds of new skiers.
